Christmas Day expected to be just perfect for weather

SANTA s predicted to deliver perfect weather for Christmas feasts around Brisbane and south-east Queensland.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, it will be a perfect Summer day without being too hot.

The temperature will top out at 30 degrees with just partly cloudy skies and there will be light winds, becoming northeasterly and up to 20 to 30km/h in the middle of the day, then light again in the evening.

There is the potential for showers or thunderstorms in the western suburbs during the afternoon and evening, but the bureau said the likelihood of these only stood at 20 per cent.

Boxing Day, meanwhile, is set to be slightly hotter and possibly wetter, with a top of 31, and cloudy skies.
