Melbourne City heading to NSW coast with confidence

MELBOURNE City coach John van't Schip is keen to go into the A-League break for the Asian Cup with two wins on the New South Wales coast, starting with tonight's clash against the Newcastle Jets.

City will head to Gosford on Sunday after tonight's game to play another struggling side, Central Coast, and van't Schip (pictured) has stressed the importance of these two games to his team before the enforced rest.

"We want to finish the first part (of the season) in a good way and that means getting good results against Newcastle and Central Coast is important," van't Schip said. "Especially if you look at the table but also more for what we're doing at the moment. That's why we're going up there to get a result."

Marquee man Robert Koren is likely to continue his comeback from the bench, but Damien Duff could be back in the starting line-up after playing 32 minutes against Perth Glory in his return from a calf injury.
