Clarke to pay tribute to Phillip Hughes today

UPDATE: Captain Michael Clarke has bid an emotional farewell to team mate Phillip Hughes on behalf of the Australian Cricket team. 

The farewell expressed a sense of shared loss with the Hughes family.

Cricket Australia has agreed to Clarke's request that Hughes' playing number, 64, be retired. 

The following footage of the farewell was aired on ABC News. 

EARLIER: CAPTAIN of the Australian cricket team Michael Clarke will pay tribute to fallen team mate Phillip Hughes today, Channel Nine news reports.

Clarke will reportedly address the media around 10 am outside the SCG. 

Phillip Hughes died this week after sustaining a head injury during a Sheffield Shield cricket match.
