Class of 1966 to kick up their heels
FORMER Murwillumbah High School students are coming from as far afield as Cairns, Sydney and Armidale for a class reunion on Easter Saturday.
Of the 250 students who started first form at the school in 1966, 108 of them and their partners have RSVP’d for the event at Murwillumbah's Riverview Hotel to reminisce.
They will be marking 50 years since they commenced high school.
The organisers are former 1966ers Joyce Connolly (nee McLeod) and Jill Kinneally (nee Cook).
Mrs Connolly, who has lived in Murwillumbah all her life, said 15 years ago they staged a reunion to mark 30 years since they finished high school.
“But this one is from when we started high school,” she said.
The night would kick off with a roll-call at 6pm.
They would back-up for breakfast in the park on Sunday and then go to the the high school for a walk down memory lane.
