Clive Palmer releases one pager on Senate team deal

THE Palmer United Party has released its memorandum of understanding with Senator-elect Ricky Muir from the Motoring Enthusiasts Party, posting a copy of the document on its website at the weekend.

The move follows repeated calls from independent Senator Nick Xenophon for the party's leader, Clive Palmer, to make the deal, struck in October after the federal election, public.

The memorandum says that each of the parties ''intends to work together and where it is practicable vote together in the Senate'', but it also says that neither party is ''required to vote for legislation that is against his or her party's policies and principles, or against their conscience''.

Senator Xenophon said on Monday that the sparse, one page document lacked details.

On Friday, Senator Xenophon accused Mr Palmer of breaking a pledge to release the details of the memorandum by Christmas, but Mr Palmer said the agreement had been available at his office on Christmas Day, ''but no one turned up''.

However, media reported receiving any notification or invites.
