Club steps out for awards

THE Twin Towns Services Walkers and Runners Club held its annual presentation night in the Twin Towns Services Club's Anzac Room recently.

The club conducts regular training runs every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm (Qld) and on Sunday mornings from 6am (Qld).

Meet on the beach front opposite McDonald's on Marine Parade, Coolangatta and cater for runners of all ages and abilities.

At the presentation night, Riley Anderson was awarded club runner of the year and was the best placed from the club in the recent Gold Coast Marathon, vice president Phil Roddy, the most improved runner of the year, Tony Kean was recognised for his age category win in the marathon which also saw him finish third from the club in the event and Carole Quibell and Corina Presser were equal club winners of female Gold Coast Half Marathon which was a great achievement considering it was the first time they had entered.
