Coaching scholarship program

APPLICATIONS are now open for a new coaching scholarship program being funded by North Coast Academy of Sport (NCAS).

The four selected will be provided with up to $2000 each to significantly develop their coaching qualifications and experience.

Applicants must live in one of the 12 local government areas serviced by NCAS including Tweed, Byron, Lismore, Ballina, Kyogle, Richmond Valley, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Nambucca, Kempsey and Port Macquarie-Hastings.

Coaches must also have a current minimum level one coaching accreditation, and should be actively coaching at least at club or regional level.

Each applicant will need to include a researched and structured development plan that demonstrates their willingness and enthusiasm to step up to a new level of coaching.

Expenses such as coaching courses or other professional course fees, course material fees, and travel and accommodation expenses related to attending such courses are covered by the scholarship.

The program aims to develop sport at regional level, recognise and up-skill volunteers, and enhance the opportunities and pathways for emerging coaches and athletes.

An information kit and application form for the Coach Scholarship program is available from www.ncas.org.au or by phoning the NCAS office on (02) 6620 3073.

Applications close on Monday, March 16.
