Coast movie coup

THE multi-million-dollar third Chronicles of Narnia movie will be filmed partly on the Gold Coast this year, Premier Anna Bligh announced yesterday.

The Walden Media/Twentieth Century Fox feature film, titled Voyage of Dawn Treader, will employ about 2000 Queenslanders during production.

Locations include Doug Jennings Park on The Spit at the Gold Coast, with more locations pending.

The film will be directed by Michael Apted, known for films such as Gorillas in the Mist and the James Bond blockbuster, The World Is Not Enough.
