Rally Australia crew escape crash with truck

NORWEGIAN world rally driver Mads Ostberg and co-driver Jonas Andersson were treated for minor injuries after their car crashed with a truck during Rally Australia's reconnaissance on Tuesday afternoon.

The head-on crash with the heavy vehicle reportedly happened on a narrow section of roadway as the crew prepared pace notes ahead of Rally Australia.

Ostberg took to social media to assure his fans he and Andersson are 'ok' and ready to roll again in another car Wednesday - three days out from the start of the rally.

"We had an accident on the recce today," Ostberg said on Facebook.

"We met a big truck on the last stage.

"The road was too narrow and there was no way to avoid a crash.

"We have been taken care of by medical staff at the local hospital.

"We are ok. No serious injuries."
