Comancheros bikie boss arrested at Coolangatta

COMANCHEROS motorcycle club national president Mark Buddle's balmy Queensland holiday did not quite start as expected.

Queensland Police arrested the 29-year-old NSW man at Coolangatta airport on Monday afternoon due to an outstanding charge of threatening a police officer in December 2012, News Limited reported.

Buddle was freed from a NSW jail on January 2 after a year behind bars and reportedly told officer he was at the Gold Coast for a holiday, accompanied by his wife and child.

Taskforce Maxima Detective Inspector Brendan Smith told reporters the bikie boss was not informed he had a warrant out for his arrest and said a decision was made not to extradite him from New South Wales.

Buddle remained in custody during an appearance at Southport Court on Tuesday.

Det Insp Smith warned outlaw motorcycle gangs police from across Australia were constantly sharing information to jointly tackle the issue.
