Commercial sales boom

THE southern Gold Coast has seen a boost in commercial real estate sales, with estate agents unable to keep up with demand.

DJ Stringer Property Services principal, David Stringer, said the company's commercial team has experienced a rise in sales and leasing activity across the Coolangatta and Tweed regions.

“We've seen a growth in popularity in the last eight weeks with prime commercial spaces being snapped up and earmarked for specialist businesses, including medical suites,” Mr Stringer said.

“The commercial market across the region is still performing quite well as demand far outweighs supply,” he said.

Mr Stringer added that there are a number of properties available, but clearly these were not enough.

“We currently have a variety of commercial properties available for sale or lease across the region that range from quality office spaces, medical suites, restaurants and retail spaces,” Mr Stringer said.

One of the most recent sales in the area has been the Rolo Car Hire site, located in Tugun.

The 809sqm commercial property sold for $895,000, and boasts a 40m highway frontage as well as stylish offices and a massive outdoor display area.

“This site represented a rare opportunity to secure a busy highway frontage commercial space, with limited opportunities across the region,” Mr Stringer said.

“The site is capable of hosting a range of commercial uses including a boat or car yard or an outdoor product display with future redevelopment potential.”

The site was sold after two weeks on the market and is being leased back to Rolo Car Hire.
