‘Complete food and beer fail’

THE grand opening of Perth's new $1.6 billion super stadium, the Cray Pot, didn't quite go to plan with Australia losing the fifth ODI of the series against England. But it wasn't the loss that had punters fuming.

From the point of view of a spectator, the stadium earned high marks. But for hungry and thirsty fans, the Cray Pot left little to be desired.

Fans fume about the quality of food and beverages at Perth's new $1.6 billion stadium.
Fans fume about the quality of food and beverages at Perth's new $1.6 billion stadium.

Long queues, food and beverage shortages, low-budget food sold at exorbitant prices were just some of the complaints.

The "fish burger", snapped up for $12.50 a pop, was two fish fingers with some lettuce. And someone please teach these stadium barkeeps to poor beer.

Apparently $1.6 billion can't buy happiness.
