Construction underway for Margaret Olley Art Centre

CONSTRUCTION is underway on the anticipated Margaret Olley Art Centre at the Tweed River Art Gallery in Murwillumbah.

A purpose-built extension featuring an artist-in-residence studio are being added to the gallery, as well as a re-creation of iconic artist Margaret Olley's home studio.

A new traffic plan facilitates the building works, which means visitors will enter the gallery car park from the lower road of the driveway and the circular drive which led past the gallery's main entrance has been closed off to public traffic.

Signs have been erected by site construction company Alders Construction Ltd to guide traffic and indicate directions.

It is anticipated that the building work will be completed late this year.
