Conversation regressing thanks to social media

There is a regression of meaningful conversation thanks to social media.

This morning I wasted time opening Messenger to see a random emoji. Crikey!

This is an exemplification as to why I prefer auditory and verbal banter with friends in the real world than that which is exclusive to social media.

Maybe my perspective is fast becoming outdated, but dynamic conversation impresses me far more than soulless, banal small talk littered with ‘lol’ and emojis.
