Cookbook for Tweed
KINGSCLIFF’S Boardwalk Books was filled with cookbook lovers for award-winning Belinda Jeffery’s newest book.
Yesterday’s exclusive book launch unveiled Ms Jeffery’s personal journey through the fresh produce of the Tweed during the past three years.
“This wasn’t meant to be a book; it really chronicles a year of my life from a food point of view,” Ms Jeffery said at the launch.
“It’s more of a personal journal of my experiences – for a cookbook. It has a lot about dolphins and other things, but it has had a really good reception and wonderful reviews.”
The award-winning author’s fourth book, The Country Cookbook, was launched yesterday and sold 26 books to an
invitation-only audience of 30 people.
The book includes 150 recipes based on local produce.
“We are so fortunate in this area with the number of farmers’ markets, I love going to markets and seeing what I can cook with,” Ms Jeffery said.
“The photographer Rodney Weidland has worked with me for more than 25 years, and this time he came and shot seasonally to fit in with the book.”
Ms Jeffery said she was working on her fourth cookbook but could not give anything about it away.
