HOT temperatures as high as 35 degrees greeted people around the Tweed yesterday with early North/West wind keeping it hot.

"The rest of the week will reach the mid 20's with Friday being much like today and reach into the 30's," Rob Sharpe of Weather Zone said.

Jack Evans boat Harbour and beaches around the Tweed where extra busy on this Labour Day public Holiday as resident tried to cool down in the cool and clear ocean water.

Tweed Heads local Rustan Yammash found a nice way to enjoy the water with his best friend Cassie the Cocker Spaniel on a Stand up paddle board.

"She comes with me everywhere, we swim almost every day," Mr Yammash said.

"She also loves chasing balls and retrieving sticks."

"We come down to Jack Evans boast harbour all the time, it's the best place."

The hottest Coolangatta day on the record for October in nine years.
