Coolest weather front for six years in Tweed-Coolangatta
THE weekend's cold snap was one of the coldest weather fronts Tweed/Coolangatta has seen in the last six years, according to weather experts.
Weatherzone recorded five degrees on Monday morning, nine degrees below the normal average for this time of year.
Day time averages for the week have only been one degree below the average at 22 degrees, said Weather Zone representative Max Gonzalez.
"Tweed Coolangatta warming during the day to normal averages for this time of year," he said.
Down in the Northern Rivers the temperatures have been significantly warmer.
Weather station recorded a drop to 11 degrees on Monday morning.
The chilly morning is over for the week though.
Tuesday was 10-11 degrees at Tweed/Coolangatta, and for the rest of the week the temperatures will warm to 12-14 degrees in the morning and 23-24 during the day.
"Wednesday we're going to start to see shower activities, as onshore winds will pass through. The showers will be isolated," Mr Gonzalez said.
A cold front will again be pushing through Northern NSW and Gold Coast South on Saturday and Sunday.
"There will be a little bit for the farmers - 5-10mm," Mr Gonzalez said.
