Cooly Rocks On to offer family fun zone

COOLY Rocks On will offer entertainment for the whole family this year, with a fun zone at Jack Evans Boat Harbour keeping the kids occupied.

The family fun zone will feature a jumping castle, a Play Doh table, hula hooping, arts and craft activities and art classes. Artist Gillian Grove from Kingscliff Arts and art student, Zoe Thompson, will also be on hand to supervise an interactive mural.

Zoe will mark an outline for an interactive artwork, a rock'n'roll themed design with a '60s rocker and a classic car, and then kids will get their chance to complete the piece.

"We will be encouraging kids of all ages to get involved, have some fun, and be a part of creating the artwork on a grand scale, Ms Grove said.

"The artwork will be a combination of paint and collage using coloured paper."

The festival will also feature a junior and young adult category in the Swing Dance Championships, encouraging kids up to 17-years-old to slip on their dancing shoes.

The Family Fun Zone will be operating from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June.
