ROB Oakeshott has proven very economical and Luke Hartsuyker and Janelle Saffin slightly below average in the latest report from Canberra.
The Department of Finance and Deregulation has tallied the costs for keeping our federal MPs in office.
From July 1 to December 31, 2012, Lyne's Mr Oakeshott was the least spendthrift of our three North Coast MPs, costing us $177,202.90.
The expenses of Cowper's Mr Hartsuyker were $222,499.14 while Page's Ms Saffin's were $223,562.29.
The average for all federal politicians was $228,066.
Mr Oakeshott scored lowest for travel allowance ($9428), overseas travel ($3244) domestic scheduled fares ($12,327) car costs ($8957) office administration costs ($62,212) and telecommunications ($5802).
He had the highest costs when it came to office facilities ($71,716) and family travel costs ($3514).
Mr Hartsuyker topped the travel allowance breakdown ($16,012), domestic scheduled fares ($19,111) and office administration costs ($81,258).
Ms Saffin clocked up $37,734 in overseas travel and scored the highest of the three local MPs in car costs ($16,291) and telecommunications ($9541).
