Council working to fix potholes
TWEED Shire Council is using a brief reprieve from the wet weather to repair the shire's battered roads.
Many roads throughout the shire were damaged as a result of heavy rain and flooding last week, with emergency work now underway at Kyogle Rd, Numinbah Rd and Tweed Valley Way near Dunbible Creek Bridge.
Engineering and operations director Patrick Knight said repair work had begun as soon as flooding hit.
"Restoration works will be prioritised and completed as funding and resources become available," Mr Knight said.
"In regards to potholes in particular, the road patching crews are continuously repairing potholes and have incorporated recent flood damage into their programs."
