LEE Kernaghan, Beccy Cole, Troy Cassar-Daley and Becc Holdorf.

These names feature in the line-up of the upcoming Urban Country Music Festival, and one of them belongs to a 14-year-old Boonah girl.

Becc Holdorf is a talented teenager who is making big steps towards her dream of being a country music star, and this latest achievement is one of many.

As well as winning her chance to play at the festival, she has also been selected to perform as a featured vocalist in the Queensland Schools' Creative Generation spectacular, and has released an EP featuring songs she penned herself.

"I competed in the Homestead Youth Talent Expo in Caboolture last year and was the overall winner, and part of the prize was performing at the Urban Country Music Festival," Becc said.

"I'm looking forward to it. I've played with Carter & Carter before but I've never actually been listed alongside big acts like this."

Becc kicked off 2012 with the launch of her EP at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

"I've release my debut EP called Wild and Free at Tamworth, and it's got three tracks on it that I wrote myself."

But these achievements haven't come without hard work and years of practise.

In fact, the Year 10 Boonah State High School student has spent as many years singing and playing country music as she has at school.

"I've been performing since I was four or five, so I don't get too scared," she said.

"I started performing with my family band; with my mum and brother and pop, and I used to have to stand on a coffee table so the audience could see me."

If the verdict of the 2011 Homestead Youth Talent Expo judges is anything to go by, Becc will have a bright future in country music.

"This young lady has so much talent she is assured of becoming a star in country music.

"If she keeps working as hard as she is now it won't take her long," the judges wrote.

The Urban Country Music Festival will run from Friday, May 4 to Monday, May 7, and will feature Becc and Ipswich local Kate Cook.
