Clothiers Creek fire now under control

UPDATE: 4.20pm Thursday July 24

A FIRE burning in grass on Clothiers Creek Rd is now under control and has remained under the watch of the Rural Fire Service throughout today.

Rural Fire Service Far North Coast Superintendant David Cook said the fire was successfully contained about 3.30pm Wednesday.

 

UPDATE: 1.26pm 

FIVE Rural Fire Service crews are still working on an out-of-control grass fire on Clothiers Creek Rd. 

Rural Fire Service Far North Coast operations officer Inspector Bob Wilcox said  said about five hectares of dry grass was alight as of 1.25pm, with about 20 fire-fighters on scene. 

It's understood there are no homes nearby. 

 

Initial report: 12.30pm Wednesday July 23

FIRE crews are currently on scene at a fire at Clothiers Creek.

Rural Fire Service Far North Coast operations officer Inspector Bob Wilcox said they were alerted to the blaze just before midday Wednesday. 

Insp Wilcox said the blaze, believed to be a grass fire, was on Clothiers Creek Rd.
