Crime scene established after woman found dead in Bilinga

POLICE are investigating the death of a woman in a Bilinga unit on Wednesday morning.

Coolangatta Police Sergeant Steve Quinn said the woman, believed to be aged in her 60s, was found about 8am by a member of the public.

It's believed they were visiting the woman when she was found deceased.

"Police have established a crime scene," Sgt Quinn said.

"The investigations will progress into the afternoon."

Sgt Quinn said it's still unknown whether the woman's death was suspicious.
