Cudgen wants fans to help win final

CUDGEN reserves are hoping for a repeat of last year’s grand final when they face Northern United tomorrow.

The last time Cudgen faced Northern, it smashed through with a 31-20 victory on United soil.

Football operations manager for Cudgen Graeme Lawrence said the pre-season trial was just a taste of what was to come for Northern Rivers Rugby League this year.

“The reserves side is looking good,” Lawrence said.

“They’ve got a pile of numbers and are looking really sharp. They’ll be playing four 20-minute quarters and should perform very well.

“It will be interesting to watch how this grand final repeat pans out.”

Lawrence said he was looking to get the support of Cudgen fans at Ned Byrne Field.

“It’ll be great if everyone could get behind the boys, it’ll really give them some extra motivation,” he said.

Kick-off is at 1pm.
