Currumbin crew cuts in

THE Currumbin Mohekans ensured Kurrawa could not claim a one-two finish in round three of the Queensland Cup rowing series at Broadbeach on Saturday.

Led by inspirational skipper Marty Fletcher, the Kurrawa boaties continued their dominance of the series with victories in the open women’s and men’s under-23 divisions.

They also won the open men’s event but Currumbin snuck into second to rob the club of a one-two finish in the blue riband event.

Mooloolaba won the women’s under-23 event. Currumbin Cha Cha’s finished second.

In the under-19 event, Currumbin crews Highlanders and Spartans finished third and fourth respectively.
