DAILY News businessman extraordinaire Tony Radanovic walked away with the title of Best Media Account Manager at the MACCAs on Saturday night.

Although Mr Radanovic was not there to accept the award at the Gold Coast Media Club's gala awards dinner, his name was met by thunderous applause from his many loyal clients and co-workers.

"I was ecstatic when I heard the news," Mr Radanovic said.

"This is my first nomination and win and I feel very honoured.

"I've got my own ethics and morals and I believe in two things.

"Number one is to have confidence in your product and number two is to listen to your clients and do your best for them.

"I'd like to thank all my clients for having faith in me and letting me do what I have to do to get them results."

Daily News general manager Geoff Jennings said Mr Radanovic was a legendary figure at the paper and a most deserving winner.

"Tony was the advertising manager back in the 90s and has continued to be an outstanding performer, not only driving the sales team but also fantastic results for all of his clients, including Victory Ford, Nortec and others," he said.

"It is a pleasure to work with him and it is really pleasing to see his clients supporting him in this award, just as he supports them every day."
