Dalby man killed in car crash

DANIEL James Hoefler has been identified as the victim of a fatal car crash early Monday morning.

Initial investigations suggest the LandCruiser station wagon Mr Hoefler was driving hit a tree about 4.20am on the Dalby Cooyar Rd, about 15km from Dalby.

The crash occurred on a slight bend on the road in what police described as relatively open country.

Queensland Ambulance crews were called to the scene but the 36-year-old was unable to be saved.

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

There were no other vehicles involved.

A Dalby police spokesman said investigations were under way to determine the cause of crash.

He said the car would be mechanically tested as part of the investigations.
