Clifton Myrtle Moo Dancing Troupe

Is this Darling Downs cow the next big internet hit?

FORGET this Gangnam Style hype. A new dance has hit the internet and it stars a loveable cow and a group of enthusiastic dancers from the Darling Downs.

The Clifton Myrtle Moo Dancing Troupe video comes from the creative mind of Clifton cartoonist Al Benge.

He said the idea for the quirky video came to him after "staring idly" at a group of cows lining a fence, one of which was the star of the show, Myrtle.

"As a cartoonist, I always look at things in a bit of a humourous way," Mr Benge said.

"I think cows are pretty humourous creatures and when I was just watching them one day I thought it would be funny if they all started dancing."

Not one to let a creative idea past, Mr benge grabbed his keyboard from his barn and layed down the simple backing track for the dance number.

He recruited some willing friends to star in his video and left the rest up to the power of the internet.
"I've seen that Korean Gangnam thing so I just thought 'why not see if I can get something going?'" Mr Benge said.
