Daylight robbery on pharmacy

BAY Street Amcal Pharmacy has been targeted in yet another cold-and-flu tablet robbery on the Tweed.

Three men carried out a daring smash-and-grab on the pharmacy in broad daylight at 6am Monday.

Sergeant Rob Taylor of Tweed Heads Police said the thieves smashed the front door and stole a large quantity of the tablets which can be used in the manufacture of illegal drugs.

Sgt Taylor said a witness saw three men wearing “hoodie-style” jackets leave the scene in a white Toyota Celica.

The car was last seen travelling at high speed down Thompson Street.

Police are appealing for anyone else with information to come forward.

Call Crimestoppers on 1300 333 000 or Tweed Police on (07) 55 360 999 with any information.
