Death threats in Armstrong case

THE man who brought down Lance Armstrong has revealed he had death threats while working on the case.

Travis Tygart, the head of the US Anti-Doping Agency, said he had been forced to increase security measures following his investigation into Armstrong's alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs.

"The Armstrong affair has prompted death threats against me. I received three of them, individual initiatives, in my opinion. The FBI is taking care of that," Tygart told French newspaper L'Equipe.

In August, Armstrong, who claimed Tygart has a vendetta against him, dropped any further challenges to USADA's allegations that he took performance-enhancing drugs.
