Demand drives nomination extension

NOMINATIONS for this year’s BEATS Awards have been extended after a massive response from the Tweed business community.

Nominations for the business awards, which were due to close yesterday, will be open until Friday, June 17, to give businesses and residents extra time to fill in their nomination forms.

BEATS awards organiser Toni Zuschke said the awards were panning out to be better than ever with more than 800 votes received for 193 nominated businesses as of last week.

“The response has just been fantastic,” Ms Zuschke said.

“Due to popular demand we have decided to give people a bit of extra time.

“This is a really great opportunity for people to showcase their business, and a great marketing opportunity.

“So if you don’t do anything at all this year to work on your business, make sure you enter the awards because it is a really good process.”

Ms Zuschke urged people to nominate by going online and filling out the application form. Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on July 30.
