Diehm: allegations of sexual harassment and corruption

FORMER Tweed police officer Shane Diehm is the subject of complaints about alleged sexual harassment, bullying and corruption lodged with the NSW Ombudsman's Office.

The office confirmed it had received a number of complaints about the officer, who was recently charged with four counts of lying to the Police Integrity Commission.

The complaints relate to allegations of sexual harassment of female colleagues while serving at the Tweed/Byron Local Area Command and bullying colleagues to drop a cannabis caution which was issued to the son of a former NSW police officer.

It is understood the recipient of the cannabis caution is now serving in the NSW Police force.

The circumstances surrounding Diehm's "speedy" discharge from the police force, on full entitlements, in November last year was also the subject of a complaint received.

However, a spokesman for the Ombudsman said "secrecy provisions of the Ombudsman Act" precluded the office from any further comment.

Diehm will answer the allegations of lying in the Downing Centre Local Court in July.
