Discount shop Sam’s Warehouse to close in Tweed South

AT LEAST 10 jobs will be lost when Sam's Warehouse at Tweed Heads South closes down.
The massive discount store which has been a fixture on Minjungbal Dr is one of several in the chain closing.
Staff have been directed not to speak to the media, but the Tweed Daily News understands at least 10 positions will be lost at Tweed with a definite closure date yet to be announced.
The closure of the Grafton outlet is expected to cost 20 jobs.
Calls to the outlet's parent company Discount Superstores Group went unreturned.
But a post on a Sam's Warehouse Facebook page says that the decision to close was due to reasons "beyond our control".
It stated "assessments are being made on the ongoing viability of stores across the network".
