Dogs put in fast times

IT WAS great to see a nice sunny day at the Border Park Raceway after the on-again off-again rain, but the rain helps the grass at this time of year.

You will never guess but I picked first, second and third in order for the first race.

It was Salty Kebab over Scherzinger and Hez Me Mate.

Race two went to Keith Boan but with the one I didn't pick so it was Classic Dora over Georgious Girl and Chasing Tegan.

Race three was heat one of the fifth grade and was won by Sassy Giselle over Spring Spartan and Flying Loren in a smart 23.57 seconds (so track was in fast order).

Race four the Maiden Final was won by Midnight Queen for Bill Sharpe.

This greyhound was having its 35th start and cracked it for a win so good work Bill. Second was Lethal Disorder and third Forrest Tina in 24.29s.

Race five was heat two of the fifth grade and went to Tweed Spirit over Cruzin Breeze and Devil Within in 23.90s.

Race six the Novice Final was won by Genista Gem over Hidden Fantasy and Crazy Tempo in 24.21s.

Race seven and it was the same greyhounds in the places again with Tallow Beach winning over Merlo This and Andad's Girl third in 38.17s.

We are hoping to run another 652 again next weekend.

Race eight, the ‘Best 8' for this week, was won by Pretty Malaika over Teddy to Go and Mark Ability in 23.47.

Next week we have the Legacy Cup for the best 8 over 420m ($500 to the winner plus trophy).

I really hope to hold a best 8 520m next weekend as well.

Race nine, the fourth and fifth grade 520m went to Hara's Cougar over Come Back Kim and Anna's Intent in 30.06s.

The last went to Law One from the one box over Phoenix Bomber and Opera King in 23.64s.

Run of the day has to be Sassy Giselle winning race three in 23.57s at it first look at the track.

Greyhound returns to Border Park Raceway ton Saturday.
