Don't be confused - Monday is the Queen's Birthday holiday

DON'T be fooled by out-of-date calendars and diaries, the Queen's Birthday public holiday is on Monday.

Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie has reminded Queenslanders of the Newman Government's decision to return the holiday to the second Monday in June after it was moved to October by the previous Labor government.

"The Queen's Birthday public holiday is back where it belongs," Mr Bleijie said.

"I understand some calendars and diaries still have the old date so I want to ensure there is no confusion.

"We decided to keep the public holiday date consistent with the majority of other states and territories.

"Making this move also creates a fairer spread of public holidays through the year.

"I hope everyone enjoys their well-earned long weekend."

The Labour Day public holiday has been moved from May to the first Monday in October.
