Downsizers cotton on to apartments
BEACHFRONT units at Casuarina have been put on the market for prices as low as $279,000.
Multiplex Living Sales and Marketing director Tim Willing said the campaign to sell Cotton Beach apartments would strike a chord with buyers looking for an “excellent value”, low maintenance coastal property.
“The Tweed Coast is renowned for its fantastic beaches, and many savvy residents are looking locally to take advantage of the more affordable beachfront property available in the current market,” Mr Willing said.
“Cotton Beach's location right on Casuarina Beach is a huge drawcard, and we expect to see plenty of interest from people who want to downsize without compromising the quality of their home.
“Despite growing demand, there is limited opportunity for owner-occupiers to secure an apartment at the beach on the New Tweed Coast.
“Cotton Beach is one of just two completed apartment projects in the region with development approval for both permanent residency and holiday letting - and the only one on the beachfront - giving purchasers the flexibility to use their property in the way that best suits their lifestyle.”
Jeff and Judy Murray recently moved into a three bedroom apartment from a beach home in Casuarina.
“We love the Casuarina area, but we wanted a home that was easier to maintain, and Cotton Beach provided us with the perfect opportunity,” Mr Murray said.
“Living at Cotton Beach is like being on a permanent holiday. I can maximise time at the beach and relaxing at home without worrying about maintaining the garden or pool.
Mr Willing says while the standard of Cotton Beach apartments is comparable to a luxury beach home, the price tag is a fraction of what is paid for similarly-located private properties.
“We have launched our spring campaign with an eye to the prevailing market conditions with prices starting at $279,000, which represents fantastic value considering Cotton Beach's location on the beach.
“Purchasers around the country are starting to recognise that now is a great opportunity to take advantage of current low interest rates and get a foothold in the market before it starts to trend upwards, with the Tweed Coast expected to experience significant growth over the coming years.
“The Tweed Economic Development Corporation has plans in place for the roll-out of 25,000 new jobs across the Tweed, with the construction of numerous major developments, including the Casuarina Village Town Centre a short walk from Cotton Beach.”
