AN alleged drug dealer was caught in Tweed Heads on Tuesday with drugs worth an estimated $3000.

The 40-year-old Bilinga man was held in custody overnight and refused bail in Murwillumbah Local Court yesterday.

The arrest has led to a joint investigation by Queensland and New South Wales police and several premises have been searched, with a number of items found. Investigations are con- tinuing.

Officers attached to the Tweed Heads Target Action Group were patrolling Coral Street at 4.15pm on Tuesday and allegedly observed three men at the intersection of Hill Street.

The Bilinga man was searched and allegedly had 15 grams of methylamphetamine in his possession. Also located during the search were a set of digital scales, an amount of cash and numerous small clear plastic bags.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old boy was also arrested on Tuesday in relation to a spate of break-and-enters in Banora Point earlier this year.
