Drug raids see 18 people arrested and $1m in drugs seized

POLICE raids on the Sunshine Coast, in Bundaberg, and throughout the Caboolture and South Burnett regions has led to 18 people being arrested on 56 charges as authorities seize almost $1 million in drugs.

During Operation Mike Video, Queensland Police found "a large amount of drugs" in raids which began on January 8 and wrapped up on Monday.

Marijuana plants, two illegal firearms and nine hydroponic systems were allegedly seized by police, as were drugs worth more than $900,000.

They were taken after raids in Burpengary, Narangba, Elimbah, South Nanango, Bucca, Monduran, Waterloo, Moore Park Beach, Bundaberg, and Mapleton.

The charges relate to producing, supplying and possessing dangerous drugs, utensils and unlicensed weapons.

The 18 people are to appear in the Caboolture and Nambour Magistrates courts.
