Egg-cellent ways to spend Easter

TWEED residents are set to be entertained this Easter holidays with plenty of events planned.

It's all kicked off Friday with the Pacific Coast Christian School's Family Fun Day.

Fun Day marketing coordinator Eve Krahe said the event was in its fourth year and had tripled in attendance.

"I've seen the [Family Fun] day triple in size over the last few years, it's great to see the community wanting to support us," she said.

"This day is set-up for families of the Tweed community."

Attendees of the family fun day were treated to all the carnival favorites from rides to face painting.

The Tweed Battle of the Bands will also usher in the beginning of the Easter break.

The Tweed Battle of the Bands will run in conjunction with the 2012 National Youth Week.

The event will be held at Tweed Civic Centre and will consist of three nights, two of which are heats and the last being the final.
