Ecstasy tablets and press found

A 23-year-old man has been charged after police allegedly located ecstasy tablets and a pill press at his Oxenford home on Friday.

Gold Coast police executed a search warrant about 6.15am at the home, where they allegedly located the items and a sum of money.

The man was charged with 11 drug-related offences to appear at Southport Magistrates Court.


Water police boat launched

A NEW$230,000 Queensland Water Police vessel was launched at Main Beach onSaturday.

The state-of-the-art 7.3-metre catamaran, “A L Greaves”, waslaunched by Police Minister Neil Roberts and Commissioner Bob Atkinson.

It is the first vessel in the Queensland Police fleet to be fitted withan infrared unit for detecting body heat during search and rescueoperations.
