Edwards family overwhelmed by support

THE family of missing Grafton teacher Sharon Edwards has been overwhelmed by support from people across Australia as the investigation into her disappearance continues.

Mrs Edwards, 54, was last seen in Grafton on the night of March 14 and concerns were raised when she failed to arrive at Coutts Crossing Public School the following Monday.

On social media, the word is still spreading like wildfire, with a Find Sharon Facebook page started by Mrs Edwards' soon-to-be daughter-in-law attracting more than 6000 likes in less than 48 hours.

Sharon's son Eli Edwards said it was heartening to know so many people cared about her.

"It's pretty remarkable. It shows that she's pretty well liked and pretty popular," he said.

"We just thought the more people that know, the better.

"There's so many people we've never met before that don't even know her that have been commenting and sharing, in all parts of Australia now.

"It's just another thing to try and keep the word out there. We don't want people to forget about her.

"We don't want people to forget about her."

Mr Edwards said there had been no new information from police but detectives from Strike Force Burrow had assured the family the investigation was continuing.

"We know they can't search forever but they're still fully on the case," Mr Edwards said.

"As bad as it is I want her to show up one way or another.

"We know it's been so long and my worst fear is just never knowing."
