Elanora drug arrests made

GOLD Coast police arrested two people from Elanora following a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking and supply on the coast.

Overnight Sunday a 29-year-old woman and 37-year-old man were arrested by officers for drug trafficking and a string of other drug related offences.

Police alleged the two people were involved in the supply and distribution of heroin in the southern Gold Coast area in the past year.

Both people have been charged with one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs, produced dangerous drugs and 13 other charges.

The pair will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
