Elderly woman injured after crash

A 70-YEAR-old woman was taken to Tweed Hospital yesterday morning after the Subaru Impreza she was driving collided with a truck on Terranora Rd about 9am.

The truck was travelling west along Terranora Rd when the woman pulled out of Dobbys Crescent into its path.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated by ambulance officers before being taken to Tweed Hospital.

Inspector Jim Cain of Tweed police said there was no-one else in the car at the time of the accident and the driver of the truck escaped unharmed.

“The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Dobbys Crescent and has pulled out as the truck approached,” he said.

“There was one in the car, the female, 70 years old who only suffered minor injuries.

“The truck driver was unharmed.”

He said the woman would be issued with an infringement notice.
