Electrical fault causes evacuation at Gold Coast Airport

GOLD Coast Airport was briefly evacuated this morning after an electrical fault was detected in the main terminal.

An airport spokeswoman said the airport was evacuated following emergency procedures at about 7.50am (Qld) for around 10 minutes, after workers detected the fault.

She said operations were disrupted for about five to 10 minutes while staff investigated the issue.

Services have since returned to normal with no flights delayed by the incident, she said.
