Esk murder-accused remanded

A MAN arrested in Brunswick Heads and accused of murdering a woman in her Queensland home has been remanded in custody after being extradited to Ipswich.

His extradition hearing was held in Lismore Local Court.

Kylie Hitchen, 35, was found lying in a pool of blood at her home in Creek Street, Esk, about 60km northwest of Ipswich, after residents raised concerns with police about her welfare.

Police will allege that Ms Hitchen’s throat was slit when she was attacked with a knife.

Ronald Michael Craig, 46, who lived with Hitchen, will reappear in court on March 9.
