Every night is a good night for trivia
FOR an affordable fun night out you need look no further than trivia nights and there are plenty to chose from on the coast.
Trivia nights are currently enjoying a bit of renaissance.
Big Trev Arbon hosts the trivia night at the Greenmount SLSC on Thursday evenings.
"The beauty is all-ages can play," he said.
"There is free ice-cream for the groms and prizes to be won.
"Trivia can be played solo or in a team and it is a great way to meet new people and everyone is enjoying themselves."
Rhonda Barnes is a trivia buff and is a regular at Greenmount.
"I really enjoy it. I come every week, the people are lovely and it's a lot of fun," she said.
Stu Pop Fisher will be the host at the Cooly Hotel trivia on Tuesdays where the focus is on comedy.
"Coolangatta trivia buffs are the smartest," he said, and he should know because he hosts trivia nights throughout Queensland.
"I want to give people a little bit of fun whether they win prizes or not."
There are also trivia nights held at the Sands Hotel where host Tappas takes the patrons on a musical mystery tour with a focus on Australian rock history.
"The regulars are so quick, it is amazing," Tappas said.
And on Friday night the trivia buffs move to the Coolangatta Bowls Club where they play trivia with the lovely host, Claire Kimmins.
