Excellent surf for national longboard final at Kingscliff
THE 2014 Australian Longboard Surfing Open at Kingscliff concluded at the weekend.
Sunday saw 16 finals across the jam-packed surfing program featuring both ASP and amateur events.
Director Sean McKeown said that after a slow start the water provided excellent surf for the competition.
"The Californian's came out on top in both the Legendary Pacific Coast LQS Open Pro and the Pretty Shady LQS Women's Pro in an excellent 3-4ft surf," he said.
The stand-out in the amateur program was former Australian junior champion Clinton Guest who surfed in the Pacific Finance eight foot, Villa World Logger and the Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club Retro.
Guest won the 8ft category and put up tough competition in the other categories.
