Expo just for kids
LOCAL businesses are gearing up for the Tweed Coast Baby and Children's Expo.
Event co-ordinator Kira Henzell said the expo was designed to be a fun day out to connect families with products and services in the local area.
“This is the first time we have run something like this in the area.
"At the moment there are no other baby outlets in the area apart from markets,” she said.
“The whole idea is for it to be a fun day for the whole family and to help connect them with the businesses and services they need on the Tweed and Gold Coast.”
There will be a number of exhibitors, ranging from swim schools to hand-made clothing and toys, children's nutrition, photography, sporting lessons, personalised art work and entertainers for kids' parties.
“Local community organisations will be there to give advice and Baby Barn will be giving demonstrations on recent changes to car-seat law,” Mrs Henzell said.
“Lots of small businesses are coming along so it is an affordable way for them to get out and promote their services too.”
And of course there's the free fun activities planned to keep the little ones entertained.
“The kids will enjoy the jumping castle, face painting and a visit from the Easter bunny and a barbecue,” she said.
“There is a $5 entry free or $10 for a family, but all the entertainment is free on entry.”
The event will be held on April 16 at the Salvation Army Centre, Banora Point.
