Extra 5000 tickets for Big Day Out

MUSIC fans who missed out on securing a ticket to next year's Big Day Out on the Gold Coast will now have 5000 more chances to attend.

Organisers of the event - which features Muse, Lily Allen and Dizzee Rascal - will release a further 5000 tickets in an online ballot system.

It will begin tomorrow and run until Christmas Eve, with 500 tickets up for grabs every week.

There is a strict ticket limit of two per customer. The ballot will be randomly drawn at 9pm EST on the Thursday of each week.

If successful, an email will then be sent to you within 30 minutes and you will have five days to pay before your ticket will be forfeited and put back into the weekly ballot.

Fans need to register for the ballot on the event's website, at www.bigdayout.com.

The 2010 Big Day Out will be held at Parklands on Sunday, January 17.

It will also feature Australian favourites Powderfinger, Eskimo Joe, Bluejuice and Grinspoon, as well as international acts Kasabian, Mars Volta, Calvin Harris and Groove Armada.

The Tweed Daily News is also giving away a double pass to the event.
