Eye of the tigers

THE Tweed Coast Tigers travelled to Ballina last weekend and came away with mixed results.

The mighty under-12s kept winning. There is no report from the under-10s, but the under- 14s went down.

The under-12s continue to improve and continue to win.

The bigger ground didn't worry these boys, and they still had a comfortable win.

The final score was Tweed Coast 18.9.117 defeated Ballina 3.0.18.

Best players were the Jones boys, Riley and Seb, Kurt Skuse (eight goals and playing injured) and Mick Arnold, with great support from Luke Schaffer, while Bodhi Pope and Billy Stevenson continue to improve.

The under-14s were again disappointing.

Ballina ran out winner 24.8.152 defeating Tweed Coast 4.2.26.

More attention to training could change the results.

Best players were Henry Buist, Sam McDonald, Tom Arnold and Nathan Brown, who was overworked in defence, with support from Jarred Diehm and Jamie Alder.

Next week the Tigers are home to Lismore at Pottsville Oval.

Any junior players looking for a game can call the club on (02) 6676 0028.
